Vom Kenting Nationalpark nahm ich den Zug in Richtung Norden, auf zur Stadt Hualien. Hualien ist liegt nur eine Stunde entfernt vom Taroko Nationalpark und bietet sich daher als idealer Ausgangspunkt für einen Tagesbesuch des Parks an. Gerade in Hualin angekommen, ging es schon an nächsten Morgen um 7:50 Uhr mit dem Bus in den Tarroko Nationalpark. Ich hatte leider verschlafen und somit keine Zeit mehr für ein Frühstück. Im Park angekommen, startete ich meine Tour mit leerem Magen zu einem Wasserfall. Ich lernte auf dem Weg dort hin eine sehr nette chinesische Familie kennen, mit denen ich zusammen den Rest der Strecke bestritt. Oftmals mussten dabei stockdustere Tunnelpassagen durchquert werden. Ein Hoch auf die Taschenlampenfunktion meines iPhones.
Es war noch früh am Morgen und es waren kaum andere Touristen im Park unterwegs. Traumhaft sag ich euch. Doch die Situation änderte sich schlagartig als ich zum nächsten Punkt im Park aufbrechen wollte. Es herrschte Verkehrschaos. Nichts bewegte sich mehr und es war nicht leicht einen Sitzplatz in einem der Busse zu ergattern. Leider hatte ich vorher nicht erahnen können, zu welch waghalsigen Mannövern so ein taiwanesischer Busfahrer mit seinem Gefährt fähig ist. Die Reifen des Busses standen oftmals nur wenige Zentimeter zum Abgrund entfernt. Irgendwie bin ich aber am Ende des Tages gesund, aber völlig ausgehungert und am Ende meiner Kräfte aus dem Park herausgekommen.
Der ursprünglich Plan bestand darin, noch am selben Abend wieder zurück nach Taipeh zu fahren. Auf Grund der Strapazen im Park, wollte ich aber lieber noch eine Nacht in Hualien verbringen. Leider war das Hostel komplett ausgebucht und so blieb mir nichts anderes übrig, als auf dem Sofa im Gemeinschaftsraum zu schlafen. Nicht gerade bequem, aber für eine Nacht okay… und sogar fast umsonst.
Am nächsten Morgen fuhr ich dann, nach einer schlaflosen Nacht, früh am Morgen zurück in die Hauptstadt Taipeh, um dort meine letzten Tage in Taiwan zu verbringen. Ich machte einen Tagesausflug in das Bergdorf Jiufen und am nächsten Tag nahm ich noch am Abend den „Elephant Mountain“ in Angriff, um die Skyline Taipes noch einmal bei Nacht sehen zu können. Auch dem „Songshan Cultural and Creative Park“ stattet ich noch einen Besuch ab.
Es ist offiziel: Ich bin jetzt großer Taiwan-Fan. Ich habe eine Menge nationaler Spezialitäten ausprobiert und mich förmlich in die unzähligen Nachtmärkte verliebt. Auf den Straßen ist abends immer etwas los und es ist toll, wie hilfsbereit und freundlich die Taiwansesen sind. Meine Lieblingssportart Basketball wird hier Tag und Nacht an jeder Ecke gespielt. Hinzu kommt, dass noch nicht all zu viele Touristen das Land für sich entdeckt haben. Es war schön. Danke
